Dear Members,

We hope that you are all keeping well under the current stay at home orders, as we remain in lockdown until at least 11.59pm - 28th August.

Whilst the groups Clubs and Community Hubs across multiple LGA’s sit silently and our Members stay home and stay safe, we wanted to reassure you that your Club and our people are being well cared for.

As you would be aware, since CHP was founded in 1947 by returned service men and women as a place to help veterans and families to reconnect with their community, much has changed in society, and our organisation has evolved into a large and diverse business, committed to serving and connecting our ever-changing communities.

Today your Club belongs to a family of companies that are administered strongly by the Canterbury-Hurlstone Park RSL Club (CHP) Board and management team. Our venues are spread across multiple Local Government Areas (LGA’s) providing relevant Community Hubs across a number of neighbourhoods.

Our places
Our family of Community Hubs all proudly serve a purpose
relevant to each of the neighbourhoods they preside in.

Whilst most of our venues are securely sitting still, there is some activity across the group.

In the Inner West, Camperdown Commons is providing takeaway food and cocktails and our neighbouring site Camperdown Tennis is safely providing much needed recreation, where you can still play tennis! In the Wollondilly, Bargo Sports Club the team are also providing takeaway from The Grill plus growlers and cocktails.

Our People
The strength of our group of companies has afforded us the ability to financially show support to our staff during the weeks where it was required. We look forward to all of our people returning to work when it is suitable, to healthy venues, and join us in welcoming back our members and guests.

Our Teams and their families remain in good spirits and have maintained contact with one another over the weeks. Whilst some of our team have some essential work to do, be it from home or on site where it is necessary and safe to do so, many of our people are awaiting the lifting of restrictions to get back to work. Needless to say, all of our teams are eagerly waiting to return to work in their usual capacity. Our Teams at Bargo Sports Club and Camperdown Commons are proud to be able to continue to support their locals by offering take away, and all the team at Camperdown Tennis are very fortunate to still be operating at full capacity.

Throughout lockdown, two of our Team Members became parents for the 2nd and 3rd time. Both families are doing well and we are looking forward to the arrival of more little ones later in the year.

We all look forward to opening our doors again and safely welcoming you back. From Our Teams to You – We miss you! Stay safe and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Our Communities
Across Canterbury-Bankstown, Inner West and down in the Wollondilly we recognise that many people are doing it tough under the extended lockdown. We are currently looking at how we can best contribute to key organisations, that are affectively supporting individuals and families in need. We hope to bring you an update on how we are able to support our communities shortly.

Please keep an eye out for more group updates, and together as one
we look forward to a positive future in our Communities.
