45 Bowlers and 4 non bowlers were warmly welcomed by President Eric on what promised to be a lovely sunny day. President Eric called the cards and we went out to play at 10.10 in sunshine unfortunately 4 overs later we were all back in the club house watching the rain.
This gave members a good opportunity for a good chin wag and everyone seemed quite happy to while away the morning. A big thank you to John, Frank and Paul for preparing and cooking our BBQ as they were put under a bit of pressure to have lunch ready earlier than would have been necessary had we played a full game. The lunch was excellent as always.
Jan Handley won the Lucky door prize supplied by Concord RSL and Harry Guerrera’s team won the Concord RSL winning rink and Paul Madden’s team from Concord RSL were runners up. President Eric said we should be playing for the John Brown Memorial Trophy which is held by Concord RSL but as Concord only had one green and therefore were only able to field 11 players the Trophy was not played for and Eric passed the trophy back to Jeannie Brown.
Secretary Jeannie thanked President Eric and Thelma for the excellent meal and praised John, Frank and Paul for cooking the BBQ. Welcome back to Dawn Watkiss back after her hip operation and Len and June Kelsey back from their overseas holiday. Nice to see Jean Pryor who came to have lunch with us back after her health problems unfortunately now Geoff is in hospital. We wish Mario and Amindo Da Silva all the best for their trip to Argentina.

Geoff Pryor: Had a visit to hospital but glad to say home again and hoping to play bowls at South Strathfield. Also Jean Pryor now feeling much better and back on the green also. Good luck to you both.
Yours truly on the sick list this month - trying to cope with a poisoned leg. Very bored - have been house bound for over a fortnight. If I can't attend on Sunday to South Strathifled I wish you all a happy day - and good bowling.
A Get Well Thought: Healing is a journey with its place of its very own. It won’t be rushed or hurried. It knows what’s right for you alone. Wishing you all the patience and strength you need as you make your way to wellness once again.
Yours In Sport
Jeanie
