Christmas day at Marrickville Bowling Club

48 Bowlers and 6 Non bowlers were warmly welcomed by President Sherron Wilson.  It was nice to see most people turn up in their Xmas finery unfortunately the weather was not as nice it was already overcast and threatening to rain.

Assistant Bowls Secretary Linda called the cards and we went out to play at approx 10.15am.
President Margaret organized for the day to be subsidized for the group members and they only had to pay green fees and next years subscription a nice Christmas present. Nice to have Annette and Fred Morris with us here today we hope they enjoy their day.  Unfortunately Jeanie is in Rehab and is not able to be here we all hope she will be home soon. Unfortunately the game was played in very trying weather conditions and by 12pm it was raining and we were all back inside however spirits were high and no one seemed to bothered. Thank you to everyone who helped decorate and set up tables it all looked lovely.

Lunch was Chicken and Ham Salad with Christmas pudding and custard thank you to Simon and Julie the caterers for putting on such a great lunch.  Santa Claus came for a visit after lunch and it was good to see everyone having their photo taken with Santa and really getting into the spirit of the day.

The Bowler of the Year award was won by Sherron Wilson and presented by Michelle Boon.  The Non Bowler of the Year award donated by Thelma Taylor was won by Terry Ross.  The winners of the Hams and Scotch supplied by CHPRSL were as follows.Terry Ross and Shirley Lowe won the Hams and Judy Goss and Enid Openshaw won the the Scotch Michelle Boon will give CHPRSL the names so they can collect from the club closer to Christmas.

Vice President Michelle thanked the Outdoor bowls group for inviting her to attend our Christmas Day and said what a lovely day it had been and wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  President Margaret thanked Vice President Michelle Boon from CHPRSL for attending and hoped all the members enjoyed their day and a big thank you to Marrickville Bowling Club and the Caterers for putting on such a good day.  President Sherron hoped everyone had a good time and wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year.
