On a beautiful sunny Sunday morning 42 Bowlers & 8 Non Bowlers were warmly welcomed by President Sherron to Marrickville Bowling Club. As this is the venue for our AGM we started the day at 9.20am holding our meeting and electing our Officers unopposed. Unfortunately due to ill health Assistant Bowls Secretary Thelma Taylor did not stand this year. Linda Ross stood for Committee and has agreed to take on the Assistant Bowls Secretary role welcome aboard Linda.
Bowls Secretary Jeanie presented Jan Hanley with a gift to take home for Thelma for all her hard work and kindness. There was a minutes silence for the passing of Ray Sowden .
Jeanie welcomed our 4 new members Frank Marshall Joy Jorgenson Joan Vella and Sandra Keegan. Newly elected Assistant Bowls Secretary Linda called the cards at 10am and we went out to bowl until 12.30pm.
There was a minutes silence held on the green for all the 9=11 victims as today is the 10th anniversary of that terrible day. Lunch was served at about 1.15pm we had a lovely Chinese Meal followed by Dessert. President Sherron thanked everyone for coming and making it such a good day and hoped they had all enjoyed themselves.
