John Nicholls on behalf of President Michael of the EBP club welcomed 62 Bowlers and 8 non bowlers and our distinguished guests to EBP Sports Bowling Club to celebrate our 45th Presidents & Officers Day.
The cards were called and we went out to play at approx 10.15am it turned out to be a nice day considering all the wet weather we have had right up until yesterday. We played until the bell at 12.30pm and there were some very close games everyone appeared to be enjoying themselves and it was good to see so many bowlers on the greens.
Toast Master Marie Catling Welcomed our distinguished guests from CHPRSL Junior Vice President Neville Rose and Director Mark McIntyre and his wife Joyce. Marie said grace and called the tables up to get their meals.
The Caterers Rose & Sam prepared a beautiful dinner and many went back for seconds and leftovers to take home. Toast Master Marie thanked Thelma Vita and Shan for serving the lunch and setting up the room so lovely. Marie called for the Loyal Toast to the Queen.
Russell Gow proposed a toast to the President and the Officers and commended them on the great job they do on behalf of the members making special mention of Bowls Secretary Jeanie who has overcome a lot of adversity this past year and also to President Margaret on her commitment to the group.
President Margaret thanked Neville Rose and Mark McIntyre and his wife Joyce for attending and welcomed Vita Sutton who has come onto the committee in the Treasurers role and thank you to Thelma and Shan for all their hard work looking after us and thank you to Rose and Sam for the lovely lunch have a lovely day and safe trip home.
Vice President Roy welcomed and called for a toast to our official guests from CHPRSL and the representatives from Everglades Greenacre Concord RSL Greenlees Park Marrickville EBP Sports Gladesville and South Strathfield. John Tatum from Gladesville responded on behalf of the visitors thank you to President Margaret and the officers for the invitation charge your glasses for a Toast to the President and CHP RSL.

Bowls Secretary Jeanie responded thanking Russell saying how good it was to see him here after his stint in hospital. Vice President Neville Rose from CHPRSL said the RSL was very proud to support the Outdoor bowling group and thanked President Margaret for the invitation. Bowls Secretary Jeanie welcomed Mona Downs and Nerida Watson to the group and Pauline Rushton who has come back after illness.Thank you to my assistant Thelma and Shan Herbert and everyone else who helped make the day a success.
Director Mark McIntyre offered apologies for Neville and Beverley Brown who are on holidays and thanked the outdoor bowling group for inviting Joyce and himself and all the visiting club. The lucky door prizes were donated by Jeanie’s daughter Julie and won by Peter Daley and Sylvia Gurewitz.

WELFARE REPORT
Annette Morris: Annette has had a veyr slight improvement. Still cannot walk. Annette is now back in the nursing home after spending two weeks in Petersham Rehab. Besh wishes to you Annette.
Vera Berhmann: Vera still suffering extreme pain. Unfortunately unable to walk. She has just found out more broken ribs which are causing a bit of stress. We do wish you well Vera. Vera's husband had another short visit to hospital with a slight heart attack. We miss you both - All the best for a speedy recovery to you both.
June Young: June now doing fine - glad to hear June that your leg is healing quickly. Hope to see you soon - all the best June.
Fay Flay: Fay still suffering alot of pain. Dr. has told Fay she must walk although it is very painful. It is going to take a long time and effort. Keep your chin up Fay - all the best.
