Kids West

Childhood is a time of dreams. Of fairy floss and playgrounds, hide and seek and story time. For many families & kids, it can also be a challenging time with pajama parties traded for sleep-overs in hospitals. Illnesses such as cancer, cystic fibrosis, asthma & epilepsy are becoming all too familiar in everyday life of our kids. Each year over 1,000 children in NSW die needlessly through these and other related illnesses.

Providing financial support for research into these illnesses is a priority this year for local charity Kids West. Recognising the shortage of crucial equipment & resources in pediatric wards in our local hospitals. Kids West was welcomed as a no frills charity, who aimed at identifying real needs and filling the gaps wherever possible. Founded in 1991 by Trevor Oldfield & Professor Reuben Dubois of Westmead Hospital, Kids West is staffed
with volunteers from NSW Police, Ambulance & Fire Brigade, as well as local business leaders, doctors & nurses, who assist in ensuring funds are distributed to the greatest areas of need, giving the best result for our community.

Our Club has partnered with Kids West to raise vital funds to improve the health & education of children in
Western Sydney. Profits from our Wednesday Cash Housie games go towards projects such as the Shaken Baby project, educating parents in the dangers of shaking a baby and the best way to deal with a crying baby. This project has already thought to have saved lives and reduced the number of babies suffering brain damage from shaking, giving mums and dads options and confidence when dealing with the stress of parenthood. Our kids are our future. Providing a little support today could ensure a greater tomorrow for our children. Profits from our Cash Housie games on Wed 10.30am & Wed 7.30pm go towards Kids West.
