Jamming for a cause
Get your friends together for a rockin’ good cause – our children’s future.
Canterbury-Hurlstone Park RSL (CHPRSL) is proud join the many clubs, schools and workplaces around Australia in hosting a Jamm for Genes gig to help raise funds for the Children’s Medical Research Institute’s ground-breaking work on childhood genetic disorders.
This month, CHPRSL will host Big Country Jamm, the biggest line-up of Australia’s hottest country talent in a night of celebration and fun – all in support of raising funds for cancer and other childhood diseases.
It will be a night of who’s who in Country Music, with The McClymonts, winners of the Best Group/Duo at the 2008 Country Music Awards and Dianna Corcoran, Female Country Artist of the Year, taking centre stage.
They will be joined by a line up of country stars - The Yeehaa Boys, Australia’s only Country Swing band, Catherine Britt (who stole Elton John’s heart) Nicki Gillis, Stacey Morris and Amber Lawrence who have wowed our servicemen and women on Forces Tours in Iraq and Timor recently. Golden Guitar winner Drew McAlister, hottest country duo Camille Te Nahu and Stuie French, Country heart throb Morgan Evans and the delightful Col Finley will melt your hearts with their melodies. Glenn Cardier, singer/songwriter extraordinaire, described by Glenn A Baker as a “National Treasure” will join the merry throng. The night will be presented by Jamm for Genes patron, Mr. Glenn A Baker and will be co-hosted by the funniest wordsmith in Australia, Jim Haynes.
