Coffee Art Design

A practical course for those wishing to learn the finer techniques in the creative presentation of coffee.

Course Aim

This program aims to build on the skills acquired in the Prepare and Serve Espresso Coffee course by providing participants with knowledge into the artistic use of textured milk and chocolate fudge.

Objectives

The intent of this programme is to develop the student's skills, knowledge and understanding of how to work with an array of enhanced ingredients that transform espresso coffee into a work of art. Participants learn the techniques of texturing and pouring milk to create artistic coffee designs. New ingredients such as chocolate fudge will be introdue and explained to expand the participant's artistic palette.

In order to gain a certificate of participation, there will be a practical asssessment and by the end of the programme the student will need to be able to :

  • Texture milk into the "silky" consistency required to create coffee art
  • Use various pouring techniques of this milk to create a range of different patterns
  • Mixing and blending your own chocolate (fudge-like) sauce
  • Use chocolate sauce to create unique designs and patterns
  • Utitlise specific and improvised equipment to create various designs.

Who should attend this course?

Those who wish to advance their skills and knowledge in the preparation and presentation of espresso coffee to compliment and enhance their customer's coffee drinking experience.

Prior completion of the course Prepare and Serve Espresso Coffee (SITHFAB012A) is mandatory - copy of certificate to be provided on enrolment. The Coffee Art Design Course builds on knowldege obtained from this course and there is not sufficient time in the course to trainin in texturing milk and
