The BSB40808 Certificate IV in Frontline Management is a National Recognised Training program under the Australian Qualification Framework. It is fast becoming one of the most sought after qualifications for any up and coming or existing supervisors and manager.
The program aims to involve the participants to in the planning and development of a project within their own workplaces and will assist them to develop their own management "style" and through the practical development of their project and leading their work team in an operational environment.

Course Aim
The program aims to develop an experienced operations staff member with specific or general skills through the difficult transition from frontline service provider to frontline supervisor or manager.
By managing and reporting on the various components of their project participants will acquire and develop a range of skills which will assist them in their transition to a Supervisory or Management role.
Key learning will centre around the following areas:
- Leadership and Management skills
- Development of individuals and team
- Monitoring a Safe Workplace
- Managing and implementing operational plans and service strategies
- Project development and delivery
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and credit transfer is available to participants wishing to gain recognition for work skills they have already obtained or relevant certificates that they have achieved.
A frontline supervisor/manager needs to develop a range of new skills which will include working and developing work teams, directing and monitoring staff and staff performance, delegation of tasks and maintaing a safe working environment. Their supervisory role should be directed to ensuring that the service and financials goals of the organisation are achieved and this program addresses a range of skills that they need to develop.
Objectives
Certificate IV in Frontline Management BSB40807 requires the completion of 10 units.
This course consists of 4 core units plus 6 elective units
Core Units:
BSBMGT401A - Show leadership in the workplace
BSBMGT402A - Implement operational plan
BSBOHS407A - Monitor a safe workplace
BSBWOR402A - Promote team effectiveness
Elective Units may include -
BSBCUS401B - Coordinate implementation of customer service strategies
BSBMGT403A - Implement continuous improvement
BSBWOR401A - Establish effective workplace relationships
BSBWOR404B - Develop work priorities
BSBINN301A - Promote innovation in a team environment
BSBLED401A- Develop teams and individuals
Who should attend this course?
The course is designed for currently employed and experienced frontline staff who may be acting in a supervisory role or who are wishing to develop their careers to a supervisory or management level.
Where organisations may wish to enrol existing workers, whom they may consider could become a future supervisor or manager, they may consider registering the staff members as an Existing Worker Trainee for details of the scheme check the DET website.
If eligible an Existing Worker Trainee may attract a Government subsidy which could defray the cost of the training. For details, further information and registration of staff under this scheme employers should contact an Australian Apprenticeship Centre
Prospective applicants may also be required to attend a pre-enrolment interview to confirm their current role and level of competence and to discuss their possible workplace based project that would be appropriate whilst also meeting the required course outcomes.

On successful completion participants will receive the qualification-
BSB40807 Certificate IV in Frontline Management
which is a Nationally Recognised Training program and part of the Australian Qualifications Framework.
