Objectives
The intent of this program is to develop the students skills, knowledge and understanding of beverage service that will assist them to meet the standards expected by their current or perspective employer. A participation certificate will be awarded. In order to gain a statement of attainment and nationally recognised qualification the student needs to have completed the module SITXOHS002A "Follow Workplace Hygiene Procedures" and provide a copy of this qualification on enrolment into the Bar Skills Course.
By the end of the program they will need to be able to:-
- Set up a bar for service
- Close a bar after service
- Opearate equipment and select appropriate glassware
- Provide customers with information of the products available from your bar
- Take and process orders from your customers for a range of drinks
- Pour draught beer and prepare garnishes
- Demonstrate the mixing and service of a range of beverages to industry standards.
- Use the correct cleaning methods and products to ensure a clean and hygienic workplace.
Who should attend this course?
Those who may be wishing to gain employment in a beverage service position and requires the skills and knowledge to perform the role of a bar attendant.
Certification
On successful completion either :
- Nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for–SITHFAB001C – “Clean & Tidy Bar Areas” as part of a Certificate III in Hospitality SIT30707 provided a copy of the qualfication SITXOHS002A Follow Workplace Hygiene Procedures can be supplied or
- A participation certificate
